New hotels can make fantastic business ventures and with the backing of investors such as Pervaiz Naviede, organisations can realise their ambitions when it comes to projects like these.

Of course, to achieve the best results, firms need more than ready cash. They also need a clear vision for their hotel. Despite tough economic conditions, consumers are still prepared to treat themselves to hotel breaks, but they expect the very best. There is plenty of choice on the market these days, meaning if they are to stand out, accommodation providers must pull out all the stops.

For inspiration, hoteliers may wish to look at a list compiled by the travel site TripAdvisor. Recently, it announced its inaugural list of Hot New Hotels. In total, it recognised 33 hotels in 18 countries across the world, all of which opened within the last year.

According to the firm, all of the hotels it mentioned have provided guests with memorable experiences and have earned a minimum of a four out of five bubble rating on its website.

Commenting on the list, chief marketing officer at TripAdvisor Barbara Messing said: “TripAdvisor has identified the new hotels that have made lasting impressions on our community since opening their doors. Whether travelling internationally or close to home, we encourage travellers to check out, or ‘check-in’ to these new hotels on the scene that are getting high reviews from other travellers.”

Taking the top spot for US hotels was the 21c Museum Hotel Bentonville in Bentonville, Arkansas. Completing the top five were the Refinery Hotel in New York City, the Zero George Street in Charleston, the Capella Washington D.C and the El Encanto by Orient-Express in Santa Barbara, California.

Meanwhile, in the new hotels around the world category, the Hotel Casa San Agustin in Cartagena, Colombia came first. Also featured in the list were the Kura Design Villas Uvita in Costa Rica, the Taj Palace Marrakech in Marrakech, Morocco and the Kempinski Hotel Cathedral Square in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Closer to home, a deal to create the first branded hotel in the London borough of Hackney was recently secured by Amhurst Road Properties Ltd, a company owned by the Pervaiz Naviede Family Trust. The accommodation will feature 80 bedrooms and it is part of a £20 million mixed-use development, which also includes 50 serviced apartments and two ground floor retail apartments.

The development is situated on brownfield land adjacent to Hackney Central Train Station. Those behind the project aim to open it to guests next year.

Whenever firms are involved in projects like these, it is vital that they pay attention to market trends. By taking a look at the most successful hotels around the world, they can get a clearer idea of what it is people are looking for when they check in to accommodation.

With sites like TripAdvisor now in operation, and with the various social media outlets open to consumers, it is now more important than ever for hotels to make a good impression on guests. The companies that fail to have a positive impact could suffer negative reviews and a loss of trade.
